Charakteristika slonov
Slony sa vyznačujú mohutnými klami,obrovskými ušami a dlhým chobotom.
Tieto majestnátne tvory sú jedny z najväčších a zároveň aj
najstarších suchozemských cicavcov.Majú veľkú silu,sú účenlivé,preto ich človek už tisícročia využíva na rôzne práce.Existujú dva druhy slonov a to
- slon africký(Loxodonta africana)
- slon indický(Elephas maximus)
Slon africký je o niečovyšší než slon indický a má i väčšie uši.Dospelý samec slona afrického meria v lopatkách vyše 3m a váži vyše 5ton.Chobotom,naberá vodu(ale nepije ním),čuchá a zdraví sa s inými členmi čriedy a používaho aj ako dýchaciu trubicu v hlbokej vode.
